Federal Tuition Assistance (FTA) is available to all eligible service members. Contact your installation or unit Education Office for the most current information about eligibility requirements and local policies.
General Info
The Federal Tuition Assistance (TA) Program is a Department of Defense (DoD) benefit that pays for voluntary, off-duty education for eligible active-duty, Guard, and Reserve service members.
Funding Limits: Covers up to $250 per semester credit hour.  
Annual Cap: Up to $4,500 per fiscal year (October 1 – September 30).  
Direct Payment: Funds are paid directly to your school to cover tuition.  
Covered Programs: Can be used toward associate, bachelor’s, or master’s degrees, as well as select vocational or professional certificates.  
You MUST maintain passing grades in all courses, failing grades will require repayment.
